Connecting With Earth

Earth is alive. We all know this intuitively.

What does that look like in our everyday existence?

Earth listens to us. Have you ever noticed that the wind may die down and the birds get quiet when we sing, speak from the heart, or play an instrument? Have you ever tried this?

Have you experienced unexpected rain when you release heavy emotions? Have you felt the wind pick up when you dance, run, or play?

When we are real in the presence of nature, we receive a response. The easiest way to see this is with our animal companions. They listen, and they speak to us. They mirror our emotions, even when we don't outwardly express them.

Try this exercise: Go outside and listen quietly. Allow whatever comes up within you to come up, and notice how Earth responds. What animals show up? What plants do you notice? Does the weather change?

If it hasn't rained for a while, do a rain dance. Call out for rain, and see what happens. If it's a cloudy day, shift your mood to something sunny, and see if the sun shines through the clouds.

Earth calls to us every day to reconnect. This is the path forward. To do this, we must begin from within. We are Earth, and Earth is us. To be detached from nature, is to be fragmented from ourselves. In this energy, we disrespect our bodies, we think our feelings, we believe we're alone and abandoned, we lose our sense of purpose.

It's time to be present and real at home on our planet with plants and animals; They are our brothers and sisters, our best friends and teachers.

Come back to Earth. That is the awakening. That is the shift. That is the call, and it's getting louder. Go into nature, and listen. That's the first step.
